In the ashes of a devastating fire, the fragile settlement of Gastown teeters on the edge of ruin. As smoke still rises from the charred remains of the town, whispers spread that the blaze was no accident… but the work of something dark and supernatural.
Desperate for answers, the townspeople gather inside a candlelit tavern to put a young stranger named Hazel on trial for witchcraft. She sees too much, speaks too freely, and now stands accused of making a deal with the Devil himself.
Meet 'Gassy' Jack Deighton, Gastown’s charming founder whose stories conceal a sinister truth. Hazel, the sharp-tongued singer accused of witchcraft after the fire. Maria, a nun who has fallen from grace… or perhaps fallen into something far more insidious. Angel, the spirited barkeep longing for a life beyond the smoke and sawdust of the frontier. And a returning favourite character from Dinner with Jack the Ripper; Grizzly, the town butcher, who is as brutal as he is feared.

There is no audience participation required, only the pure magic of being swept into another time and place. For $149 per table (for two guests), you and your companion will enjoy an indulgent meal, exceptional live theatre, and rich, romantic atmosphere.

No. The show is immersive but not interactive. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped right into Dracula’s haunted mansion as the action unfolds around you in the intimate speakeasy setting. The actors perform throughout the space, but you won’t be asked to participate. You can simply relax, enjoy your meal, and watch the story come to life.

Water Street Café’s excellent staff will begin serving you right away, so you can begin your meal or enjoy some delicious wine or cocktails before the show. 6:00 reservations will be seated first, so you may want to select this option if you have a preference for seating. However, this production is delightfully immersive for every seat in the house.
